Today we are going to travel back 19 years, and see a game played by the legendary Garry Kasparov against Sergei Movsesian in 2000. The game is quite popular and is known for Kasparov’s fantastic exchange sacrifice at move 13 in the Sicilian Scheveningen Variation. The following position arrived in the middlegame, 10 moves after Kasparov’s exchange sacrifice in an effort to destroy White’s king safety, which he did well so far.
